We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data Lyter collects and how it is used.
What we collect
When you use Lyter, we may collect:
- Your name and email address when you create an account.
- Subscription status (handled securely by Apple).
- Basic, anonymous usage data to improve app performance (measured through Kochava).
When you use AI features, your prompts are processed by our AI provider to generate responses. These are not used to train AI models.
We also use Kochava, a privacy-focused analytics provider, to measure how people find Lyter and whether our advertising works. When you first open the app, Apple asks whether you allow tracking. If you allow it, we share a device identifier with Kochava for this measurement. If you decline, no advertising measurement happens - and every feature of Lyter works exactly the same either way.
How we use your data
We use your data only to:
- Provide and improve Lyter features.
- Personalise your experience.
- Enable account syncing and functionality.
- Improve app performance through anonymous analytics, measured through Kochava.
We never sell your data. We do not use your data to advertise Lyter to you across other apps. The only third-party advertising-related sharing is the anonymous, tracking-permission-based measurement described above, which measures our own marketing - never anyone else's.
Data storage
Your data is securely stored to enable app functionality and syncing across devices.
Data retention
If you delete your account, your data is removed within a reasonable period (typically up to 30 days). Subscription records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies and applicable tax law.
Your rights
You can:
- Access your data.
- Export your data.
- Delete your account at any time from the app.
AI features
AI features process your text prompts to generate helpful responses. These prompts are not used for training AI models.
AI suggestions are informational only and not professional or medical advice.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers to run Lyter:
- Lovable Cloud / Supabase - account, storage and syncing.
- Our AI provider (via the Lovable AI Gateway) - generating AI responses. Prompts are not used to train models.
- Apple - App Store payments.
- RevenueCat - subscription status and subscription management.
- Kochava - privacy-focused measurement of how people find Lyter (for example, whether an advert led to an install). Kochava only receives a device identifier if you allowed tracking, and it is never used to show you other companies' adverts.
Children's privacy
Lyter is not intended for children under 13.
